Oi! Stalker! Who's looking at your Facebook page?

Facebook stalker app

Have you ever wondered who looks at your Facebook profile, and how often? This application provides a very vague answer to that question...

Recently I was invited to join an application on Facebook that apparently allows you to see who is "stalking" you. I have a history of never accepting invites to rate movies, throw tomatoes at people and generally participate in any of the annoying apps that so many people seem to love.

But this one was different. Curiousity got the better of me; is it ego? fear? Can I really see who has been looking at my profile the most?

The answer to that question is a resounding "no".

This application is not able to extract information such as profile views (as stated in the disclaimer, it cannot unveil "genuine" stalkers). Instead it simply shows the levels of interaction between yourself and other members. This means that if you have "liked" somebodies photographs or  commented on their status or wall regularly, you will appear high up on their stalker list, and the same applies vice versa.

So in effect, the "stalker" title of this app is purely for marketing purposes, but it’s a fun little tool to play around with. You can actually see your friends stalkers also – which includes being able to see how high you are on their list. I’m not sure how accurate the data is, but you can guarantee it will be a viral talking-point for weeks to come.
